Originally from Houston, Texas where he is a well-known musical theatre “triple threat” performer and director/choreographer, Chad relocated to Pennsylvania in 2005 where he directed many highly acclaimed community theatre and area school productions such as: My Fair Lady, Camelot, Disney’s High School Musical, Disney’s 101 Dalmatians kids, Man Of La Mancha, A Chorus Line, Children of Eden, Peter Pan, and CATS to name a few.
Chad received his formal training as a scholarship student of the Bachelor of Fine Arts Musical Theatre Program at Sam Houston State University where he was also later awarded a Distinguished Theatre Alumni Award for “achievement in professional theatre”. He has had the great privilege of teaching side by side Mr. Bob Fosse’s protégé, Chet Walker, who co-conceived the award-winning musical FOSSE. Chad has also worked with such nationally acclaimed artists and Broadway veterans as: Jack Dabdoub, Marie Danvers, Rob Gallagher, Katie Clarke, and Greg Graham; in addition to Emmy Award television actors, Chad Brannon and Meredith Hagner; Christina Aguilaira’s choreographer Jermaine Browne; American Ballet Theatre’s George de La Pena;
and ballet star of the movie musical CHICAGO,
Ekaterina Shelkanova.
With over 100 productions to his name, Chad has been involved in professional and community theatres across the country for the past 20 years. Favorite roles he has played include the title roles in Barnum, George M!, and Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. He performed in the 50th Anniversary Broadway National Tour of Singin’ In The Rain, which toured 46 states in the U.S., plus Canada. Chad served as the Artistic Director for Children’s Theatre for the Gettysburg Festival in 2008 and 2009. He also co-directed the world premiere musical Helen And Teacher at the Gettysburg College Kline Theatre, and sang the role of King Kaspar in Amahl And The Night Visitors at The Majestic Theatre for Music Gettysburg! Chad is now seeing his life-long dream come true with the opening of the Adams County School of Musical Theatre and he wishes to thank every student, parent, volunteer, staff member, board member, and patron for being a part of it all.
